    Frequently Asked Questions

    There are some basic maintenance requirements for which you are responsible and we expect you to do as part of the maintenance and upkeep of your garage.  As the tenant you are expected to keep the garage and door in good condition, and you must keep moving parts of your door and lock oiled and serviceable.   Before reporting your repair take a minute to check your licence agreement to see whether the repair is your responsibility or ours.

    We always ask for photos to enable us to quickly assess the issue and send the correct tradesperson to resolve the repair as quickly as possible, with the necessary materials with them.  Without photos it means the trades person who attends initially may not be able to resolve the issue or have the necessary materials with them meaning we have to arrange for the property to be re-attended, which delays the repair being completed for you.

    Most repairs will be done by our multi-skilled trade staff.  However, if it needs specialist skills which sit outside of our workforce this may be carried out by a sub-contractor. All of our sub-contractors are carefully vetted to meet our standards.

    We’ll ask you to pay for repairs that are not due to fair wear and tear, and usually relate to damage or misuse.  For example, if your door breaks due to the garage being overfull and it hitting contents as it opens, this repair cost will be fully rechargeable to you.
